Welcome to our new Favorite Products tool!
We've completely revamped our old Featured Products and Favorites tools, consolidating them into one interface. A lot of our users told us they were confused between those two tools, so we found a way to consolidate them into one single page.
"Hamburger" menu
Make sure you notice the hamburger menu, because that's how you'll navigate through your favorites. This is the same control you're probably used to on your cell phone or tablet. Clicking this brings up a special menu.
What you'll see when you click it is a list of all the folders of "favorites" that you have access to.
For most users, the first thing on this menu will be My Favorites, which is your own personal list of products.
Below that you'll see a list of the folders of products that have been set up by your SHI rep, or possibly by an internal administrator at your own company.
Notice that each folder shows the number of products contained within it.
Clicking on a folder does two things. Most importantly, it selects it - so you'll see the products listed on the page behind the folder list change. Also, if there are any child folders (as in this sample) within it, it opens it up so you can see them.
Close the folder list by clicking the x at the top right.
Selecting products
The most obvious way to put a product into your shopping cart is by clicking the green shopping cart icon
corresponding to that product.
But if you've got a whole bundle of products that you need to add at once, it may be simpler to check multiple products at once - maybe by using the Select All button - and then clicking the larger Add to Cart button located above or below the list.
You can tell that a product is selected because its checkbox will be filled, and the box surrounding it will be highlighted.
-or-

Note that products that are Configurable Systems can't be selected with a single click. That's because you first need to tell the system how you'd like them to be configured. In these cases you need to select the item by clicking it in order to configure it. You can tell when this is the case because the product will be shown with an icon showing that configuration is necessary, as shown to the right.
Views
The system now provides two ways to view the contents of a favorites folder - a List View and a Tile View. You can select them using this control, located at the top and bottom of the product list.

These two views provide the same capabilities, they just present the information to you in different formats.
The List View gives a more structured view, allowing you to see the products in a more structured manner, allowing things like the manufacturer part number to be visible up-front.

The Tile View is more visually oriented, allowing you to identify the products more easily by their image.

Sorting
You can sort the order in which the items are displayed, but choosing an option from the Sort By dropdown at the right side of the control bar.
Folders
The Hamburger Menu isn't the only way to navigate through your favorite folders. If a folder contains any sub-folders, those will show up in the list right alongside any products in the menu.
To the left is an example of this. In place of a product image, the system will display pictures of the first three items in the menu. If there are more products than just these three, it will also show an indication of how many more there are. In this example, the three images, plus the "+3", let you know there are a total of six products in this sub-folder.
Note: when you click Select All to get all the products in the current folder, it does not include the sub-folders. So you won't be surprised to find items in your cart beyond what you see displayed.
Managing favorites
With the required security permissions, you can manage your own Favorites lists. Most users with their own logins can manage their personal favorites, which management authority is required to manipulate the folders that are shared across an account.
Removing an unwanted item is simple: just check it (as if you were going to add it to your cart), and click Delete.
Note that this only removes the reference to the product from the folder - it has no effect on what products are already in your cart.
Adding a new product to your list of favorites is just as easy, but it's done when looking at the product's Details Page. From there, you just need to click the Add To My Favorites button.
